Raising Money

So I’ve been trying to raise some money for the youth club I volunteer at. As I’m sire you have all heard me say how important it is for the young people. So I’ve made a  few digital posters that are available to download for just £1 with profits going to the youth club. I’m also starting to design some handmade Christmas cards which I’m hoping to get up soon. So please go and check it out 🙂

It’s like a sonar

My favourite film in the world is Titanic, so as you can imagine one of my favourite songs is My Heart Will Go On. So I was upstairs in my room doing homework and my door was shut so I couldn’t hear the TV. But then whilst I was sat there I thought I could hear the tune to My Heart Will Go On. I thought it might have been my IPod so I went to the desk downstairs where I had left it. When i got there I saw no music was playing on it but I could definitely hear the song playing. So I went into the living room where my family was watching TV and lone behold My Heart Will Go On was playing. It was so weird. My family thought it was hysterical and they have now made a joke saying I have a sonar thing. I guess that’s one of the perks of having Asperger’s Syndrome.

I Recommend: Freaks, Geeks and Aspergers Syndrome (book)

When I was first diagnosed with Aspergers, the doctor who diagnosed me knew I was in shock and I had no idea what I had been diagnosed with. He suggested to get this book: Freaks, Geeks and Aspergers Syndrome. The book is written by Luke Jackson a thirteen year old boy with Aspergers with illustrations done by his sisters. The book is amazing I found loads of useful advice in it and I felt like I was no longer alone. In the book Luke also talks about his younger brothers with autism. This made me see how autism can show signs in everyone differently, and also how my sister saw me and the troubles she faced with me. But my favourite thing about it is its written by a teenager for teenagers. For me this is the ideal book for households with a teen with Aspergers in it.

My Asperger’s Story

Yesterday I done something that was hard for me. I spoke about my Asperger’s and everything that happened to do with my Asperger’s. I recorded this and and have posted it on youtube. I hoped that maybe people who heard it and have AS would not feel alone because they would realise there are others out there like them. Please tell me any ideas you have for me to do for another vlog and please check out this video.

Start of a long tiring journey.

Today is going to be the start of a long journey for me and my family. Last year when I was in Sixth Form I joined up to do the Duke of Edinburgh Scheme. Sadly it didn’t go well, the teacher organising it did not give me the help. Then the day before one of my A Level exams the teacher asked me to come up to the school alone to tell me I’m no longer allowed to do it. This is a week after she sent letters home to my friends about a trip, who then asked me if I got one causing me panic. This is just one of numerous failings by this teacher.

So today is the day when we’re starting to contact the Duke of Edinburgh Scheme in the hope the School is no longer able to do it. They failed me badly and caused me a lot of stress to where I was having to take sedatives on the days I was doing my A Level exams. I never want this to happen to some one else, that’s why we are starting this.

Look behind the front

Most of the time I put on a front most of my friends don’t know I’ve been admitted to hospital for suicide attempts or that I’m suffering from depression. People often say to me “oh you have Asperger’s but you look normal?” Anyone can hide parts of them they don’t want to see you just need to look beyond. Even the people who you hate may be hiding something you don’t know. I seen something on facebook and I thought I’d show you it I thought it really shows my point.

Question 1: If you knew a woman who was pregnant, who had 8 kids
already, three who were deaf, two who were blind, one mentally
retarded, and she had syphilis, would you recommend that she have an abortion?

Read the next question before looking at the answer for this one.

Question 2: It is time to elect a new world leader, and only your vote
counts. Here are the facts about the three leading candidates.
Candidate A: Associates with crooked politicians, and consults with astrologists.
He’s had two Mistresses. He also chain smokes and drinks 8 to 10
martinis a day.

Candidate B He was kicked out of office twice, sleeps until noon, used
opium in college and drinks a quart of whiskey every evening.

Candidate C He is a decorated war hero. He’s a vegetarian, doesn’t smoke, drinks an
occasional beer and never cheated on his wife.

Which of these candidates would be your choice? Decide first, no peeking,
then scroll down for the answer.

Candidate A is Franklin D. Roosevelt.
Candidate B is Winston Churchill.
Candidate C is Adolph Hitler.

And, by the way, the answer to the abortion question: If you said yes,
you just killed Beethoven.

Pretty interesting isn’t it? Makes a person think before judging

Please let me know what you picked. For the first one I picked no as my religous beliefs say abortion is wrong but I did pick candidate C for the second one. I can’t believe my country actually lets me vote if for World Leader I chose Hitler!

Get Out of Jail Free Card

So the school have gave me a ‘get out of jail free card’, this basicly means I only have to show my teacher this and they immediatly excuse me from my lesson. It means no more explaining and no more big fuss when I have to leave a lesson because I’m struggling to cope.

They also designated a small room off the chapel just for me to go in and calm down in. It has a small desk in so I can also carry on with some walk. Another plus is that because of it’s location it’s very quiet so I won’t be disturbed nor will I run into the chance of people seeing me there. Also my faith is a big part of my life and I find comfort in it so maybe it might help considering it’s part of the chapel.

I’ve not had a chance to use my card yet but I think that it’s a good idea. So I thought maybe share it as it may help others who for one reason or another sometimes struggle being in classroom of people. I hope this helps 🙂
